About Us
Located in northeast Columbus, our plant serves Columbus and surrounding communities with recycling drop-off services for all types of non-ferrous metals, aluminum cans, computer scrap, cardboard, and paper scrap for recycling.

We are open to the general public from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. We also purchase materials for recycling from commercial and industrial sellers as well as government and non-profit entities.

 Community
As responsible members of the business community, we actively support Columbus City Code Chapter 550 (effective 8/22/2007), which licenses and regulates certain business practices for all local scrap dealers, and helps create a partnership with local law enforcement authorities to identify illegal scrap metal sellers.   Chapter 550 requires all scrap dealers to implement strong uniform item identification, seller and seller vehicle identification, to maintain detailed records, and perform daily electronic data transmission to a central database along with stronger uniform information gathering and retention. We believe that in working closely with the Columbus Police Department to implement the new City Code we will reduce crime in the scrap metal industry and provide a safer environment for the entire community.

 What you can expect
We appreciate your business and we value your time.  Our professional scrap metal buyers are here to help safely and efficiently unload and process your scrap.  Our scales are state certified and our staff will weigh, grade, and report your scrap material for prompt payment.

Our roots.

Three generations of the Grossman family have been in the recycling business since the early 1920's when Benjiman Grossman first started a recycling business  just south of downtown in Columbus Ohio . Over the years, along with his three sons, the business  grew to a number of recycling and related businesses, each set up to process a specific type of material.  The Ohio Waste Paper Division handled paper & cardboard recycling, while Recycling Exchange South and Recycling Exchange North specialized in recycling non-ferrous metals, plastic, and glass. The Rose Wiping Cloth division processed textiles for the automotive and manufacturing industries.  A division called Converting Technologies manufactured customized paper products for the hotel, restaurant, and automotive industries.  The Grossman Export division processed and shipped used clothing to ports around the world. By April of 1998, all Grossman recycling divisions except Recycling Exchange North were sold, spun off or relocated outside of Ohio.
